About the practitioner
Nice to meet you! Iām Jamie. After graduating high school, like so many, I attended community college believing that it was the thing I "should be doing". After only one semester, I took a break. I spoke to multiple professors and student advisors, hoping that I'd find my passion in one of the disciplines offered. However, nothing resonated.
While taking a break and working part-time, I stumbled into a ballroom dance studio. Within days of entering the world of dance, I felt a deep calling inside of me that I had never felt before and I knew that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. The joy and magic that I felt that night was unmatched by any other activity. Fast forward 7 years, I was teaching and performing professionally in ballroom and Latin dance. It is also how I met my boyfriend, EJ.
Over the past decade of dance instruction, I had also completed my B.A. in Sociology from American Military University.
To this day, being a dancer and instructor has remained a passion which burns deeply, but one that I knew I could not sustain full-time as a career. I needed something that still connected me to the human body.
It was then that I discovered the Therapeutic Massage and Training Center in Westfield, NJ. Upon visiting the center and learning about the profession in-depth, I felt the same resonance that I felt many years ago when discovering the world of dance. I was fascinated, this time, by the mechanics of the human body and the many methods of healing and nurturing the bodies we have. And so, the rest is history! The training that I received at TMTC has provided me with a strong foundational base of knowledge and skills to help deliver relief and rejuvenation to my clients. I specialize in deep tissue/sports medicine, massage for nervous system regulation, and stretch therapy.
